Esha Bijutkar is a self-taught miniature artist from Pune, India.
In 2019 she completed a master’s degree in Electronics & Telecommunications at Trent University, but her true passion is for her miniature art, a talent which began during her student days in Nottingham. Esha returned to the UK last year for six months, staying with friends in East Bridgford and learning the art of wood turning which she now incorporates into her miniature models. Sadly her art is not recognised in India as it is elsewhere but despite many challenges and obstacles, her hard work and determination is now getting noticed. She has been given the opportunity, as one of thirty world-class international artists, to exhibit her work at the ‘Small is Beautiful’ exhibition in Paris, London and New York. She has also been approached by Spanish designer Loewe, Channel 4, Harder & Steenbeck Airbrush company and, more recently, a Canadian TV channel after they saw her work on social media. She has also featured with tutorials in each edition of ‘Shrunk’ magazine. Esher’s miniatures are of the scale 1:12 which means everything she makes is twelve times smaller than the real thing. She makes everything from scratch using a combination of air dry clay and recycled scrap items.
